Tutoring with a Friend
If your child is missing their school friend or summer camp pal, they can meet up for tutoring sessions!
We know how challenging it can be to coax your child into completing educational tasks over the summer. You won't have that problem when they tutor with a friend! Our summer sessions for pairs and trios are equal amounts brainy and fun. It's always neat to see what kids learn about themselves when they work with others, too.
Below are descriptions of our most popular summer tutoring options for friends tutoring together. We're able to customize each one for students in 3rd through 12th grades. (We can also adapt our regular summer offerings.) If you don’t see exactly what you’re looking for, give us a call to find out what we can do for you!
The kids are in control with the passion project! They’ll explore a favorite topic and create a final project to show off what they’ve learned. Along the way they’ll develop their reading, writing, research, and executive functioning skills. If they need some ideas to spark their imaginations, we have a bunch here!
Math classes move fast, and sometimes it's hard to keep up with the new stuff when you haven't mastered the old stuff. Math Bridge tutoring offers your child and their friend the chance to catch up, and even get ahead, so that the coming year's math challenges aren't too big. We can also make this more of an enrichment experience.
Reading and Writing
Working on reading and writing skills together leads to a deeper understanding of text and a solid grasp of writing as a process - something that eludes many children! We'll help your child and their friend improve their comprehension skills, and also teach them how to think critically and respond meaningfully in writing.
Having a conversation partner will accelerate your child's world language learning! We take students from where they are and practice vocabulary, grammar, speaking, and writing skills. Tutors incorporate a variety of games and activities to keep learning lively and interactive.
Storytelling together is the most fun! Your child and their friend will learn how to develop story elements like setting and characters so that they can bring their combined imagination to life. Along the way, they’ll also improve grammar and punctuation skills.
