SAT Subject Tests
SAT Subject Tests are required or recommended for admissions into many selective colleges. As you are researching colleges, it is important to find out if subject tests are needed in addition to the ACT or SAT.
We can help you plan out the best time to take these tests to maximize your child’s score. Most schools are looking for a score of 700 or above. We offer diagnostic pre-tests for most of the subject tests, and we can help you select which tests are best to take and create a customized tutoring plan for those tests.
Subject Test Information:
- Most students take two or three subject tests. There are tests available in literature, math, biology, physics, chemistry, US history, world history, Spanish, French, German, Latin, Italian, Hebrew, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese.
- Each subject test is multiple choice, an hour long, and scored on a scale of 800.
- Subject tests are offered every date the SAT is offered, except the March date. Students can take up to three tests on a single test date.
- These subject tests can be taken in ANY year of high school. It’s best to take a subject test in May or June when finishing up a challenging course in that subject or after completing an AP exam in that course.
